I've gone to 5 Design within Reach stores in the San Franciso area that have a Nelson Eye clock and they are all bowed(one was really bad)). It seems when they are hung horizontal the wood bowes from the weight of the metal. I have one and now it's vertical. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, I have. It's fixable, but you need to be a little mechanically inclined. Remove the back & tighten any decernable screws, then repace the back 180 degrees from where it was. (the top will now be the bottom) Any "droop" from gravity that has developed will now be straightened. It works, I had to do it w/ mine.
