The book that coincides with the exhibit is now available. 70+ euros. Shipping to the US is is 30 euros, IMO excessive!
Should any of you purchase this book, please do share your opinions on the quality of it's contents.

I'm looking forward to getting the book in the US; I understand it won't be imported here until early 2009. I'm not spending 30 euros to get it shipped from Europe.

At 1:30, you can see a video...
At 1:30, you can see a video of Nelson gesturing in the background. Then you see him reach under the table and produce what appears to be a club/mace? Peace keeper in the Nelson office?
Nice simple video. Still surprised that the exhibit wasn't arranged and presented here in the US. Glad Vitra is doing it.
Another thing... has the exhibit given Nelson a broad stroke, or have others been given credit?

The Catalog is great...everyone is given credit where credit is due.

The exhibition catalog
I know it's expensive, and I'd probably wait until it arrived in the U.S. to purchase it if I hadn't picked one up at the exhibit, but it is an amazing chronicle of Nelson's office and its works. The list of works alone, which is about as close to comprehensive as possible, is worth the price. There were many items I had not known he designed listed and pictured.
As for the exhibition, it is coming to the United States in 2010. I just don't know where yet. Herman Miller is a co-sponsor of the exhibit and will play a role in bringing it here.
Interesting note. George Nelson's widow attended the opening. That is her at 9:14 in the video.
