So, I've got this corner I'd like to fill with an upholstered chair, and a Womb chair would fill it nicely. I'm looking at a vintage chair somewhere between ready-for-reupholstery and good-as-new. $1100. Foam is crunchy on the back, but not crumbling. Fabric is really quite nice for its age. Structurally sound. I've got small kids. I also like the Grasshopper chair for the space, but hard to find one under $2K.
Worth it for holding the corner until I can get it re-upholstered? I've found lots of good information on the Womb on this site. Just got cold feet at the last minute, as I was talking with a colleague who thought the money was crazy and it would be better spent on a Lay-Z-Boy. I should add that I have a post-and-beam house and vintage furniture that she calls "funky."

Worth is subjective
but you should know that reupholstery is expensive.
Wombs take 7.5 yards of fabric (and the ottoman takes an additional 2.5 yards) at $35 to $130+ per yard. Labor is usually $400 to $800, but it can be more if you live in New York or are otherwise unlucky.
