I recently purchased a similar chair from a second hand store for $10. No tag but almost certain it's from Steelcase . The one i purchase is in very good condition. The demand? I don't know. It is what it is. A mass produced office chair. They where made to be functional, study & comfortable , with a bit of style. Also, they're a step up from most of cheap office chairs, made in china, that are currently being sold at big box stores. I remember seeing them in offices everywhere when I was kid. There are still a handful flouting around the office building I work in know. I love mine. It's a nice chair if you can clean it easily and plan to use it regularly. I wouldn't invest alot of time or money trying to clean them. If you like them keep them, if you don't git rid of them.
