Hi,
found this round chair in Germany.
It has no branding and I´m not shure if it is "The Chair"
Most interesting thing is, the chair is def. real vintage (I think from 1950/1960?)
But some parts are disturbing:
1-no Branding
2-the joints in the backrest are spiry/pointet and not round like in the PP Moebler Video at YouTube (maybe because the chair is old and the Joints are not machine cut/milled?
3-the seat is extra supported/different to modern round chairs
I checked so many chair pictures but never found these joints!
Any opinions on it?
Thank you so much
Regards
Micha

It looks just a little bit
clunky around the edges. And the screwed corner blocks under the seat--and the plywood seat itself--don't seem very Wegnerian to me, though I have never seen the underside of a PP501 so I am just guessing.
However, look at the outer edge of the arm compared to the real thing. Your chair's arm edge is thicker and more rounded. Yes, the photos are not taken from exactly the same distance but the angle of the camera to subject is nearly identical.
The tinted clear finish also bothers me. This is something that was used on cheaper wood to give it the look of more expensive teak or walnut. I've seen a lot of it on knockoff furniture.
You could probably find other photos of the real thing taken from the same angles as your photos, or you could take new photos to match existing photos of the real thing, just to compare. That's what I would do if it were my chair, but then I love doing stuff like that.
