Found a great lamp at the dump store. Made of thin wood strips. It is labeled Ikea on the ceiling mount, but am wondering if it is Ikea at all, or if someone just used the Ikea hardware on it. Any Ideas??

I'm guessing...
...not IKEA. Only because I got a similar lamp made of very thin wood strips but in a boxy configuration and it was made in Finland in the early 70s. Mine was assembled but I've seen these in the original kit form. I think they were originally inexpensive. I sold mine on ebay for $200, which was about 100 times more than I paid for it at a junk auction!
Ooh, and whaddya know, I saved the pics of it all these years!

That's
cool. Why can't they both be IKEA ?
Can you imagine how many separate items IKEA has sold over the years ? And it's almost all been "modern" -- thus carrying a message to the consuming world.
New category for the "collecting world" : Vintage IKEA

because
The kits I have seen for lamps like mine didn't have any IKEA labeling.
I suppose they could have made something like this. Mine seemed a bit fragile for IKEA's products, at least the stuff they sell now. It was pretty delicate.

look inside
Look at every surface inside the lamp. If I remember correctly, mine had a small sticker on an inner surface that said "made in finland" and maybe the manufacturer's name.
You could also look up "lamp kit finland" on ebay. There may be nothing right now but if you check regularly for a few weeks or even months, something might show up. You can have them email you search results if you don't want to bother checking online yourself.

I once had a similar hanging lamp. All wood, thin veneer strips and incredibly delicate. Had a tree branded (burnt) onto the top strip of veneer. Don't recall if it was outside or inside.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson?
I believe that both the round and square wood lamps may be designs by Hans-Agne Jakobsson. I think from Sweden, not Finland.

pegboard
I think you might be right.
The first one below is a round lamp similar to the one in the original post. The second is one almost identical to mine.
They might be Finnish kit knockoffs, though. Mine looks clunkier than the Swedish one. And I'm pretty sure it was made in Finland.

Thank you all. It is a beautiful lamp, I can't believe someone threw it away. Well worth the $2 I paid for it.

Most likely Hans-Agne Jakobsson
I own one. known for split wood lamps. Usually, very thin ash splints that 'sit' into supports.
Marks:
1. Look for a fire brand of Hans-Agne Jakobsson, usually on a support (not the actual split ash, but on a support)
2. Look for small nails. No glue on these! It is as if little elves put little nails into each split and support.
