I've been approached to purchase six walnut eames dcm's, probably from the 60s as they all have the black round foil HM label . All need new rubber shock mounts to replace the existing ones, specifically on the back rest. The wood on the chairs seem to be in fine condition. The question is, what would be a fair offer for these six chairs, minding they all need new shockmounts, and i've never replaced shock mounts before, but consider myself handy enough to tackle the task. My guess is new shockmounts for each chair would run around $40-$50 for the material only?

Thanks for your insight.

good selection on e-bay.
A nice set of 4 in minty shape...rosewood.
Others in various state of repair.
A set of 100 for the party giver! bolted!
I wouldn't buy anything with shock mounts. : )
(just kidding Lucifersum)

Shock mounts
Are the shock mounts actually worn/damaged or just fallen off?
There are several repair options for new shock mount replacement, the cheapest DIY method would cost about $25-30 per chair.
If the wood and frames are in good condition, they would be in the neighborhood of $200 each at current FMV.

The shock mounts are still...
The shock mounts are still on the chairs but they are severely damaged and need replaced for sure. But they need to be removed and replaced. Thoughts on time to remove/replace, effort involved?
