Update on Olive and the Eames Shell Chairs

Shell chair or no shell chairs...I am 6ft tall and a natural blonde, but Cameron Diaz I am not!
Hang in there folks I need to gget the chaiors here from NM...hopefully they'll go out next week. As for Pix, they are all on hubby's camera, which, of course, is in his office in NM...so hang on a bit, he'll be back out there next week.

They're here, finally!
And every one of them survived the trip!! I'll spend some time this weekend reassembling and photographing them. I'll get some piccy's to you all soon.

Tip to photographing them
Hey Olive,
You'll more than likely be disassembling them for shipment to their final destinations. A good tip for photographing them is to set up a backdrop, set one base up, and rest each shell on that base. I used to do this for eBay sales and I just disclaimed that the bases would have various wear and tear to them. It saves a helluva lot of time than screwing each shell onto each base. Just be sure to note if any bases are missing glides etc.

Having been pretty active in the ebay world ove r the years we're all hooked up with a back drop and a tripod for the camera. And truth be known I was just going to match the base to the shell and sit it there. that way I can also easily flip the shell to show the condition of the undersides.

Olive, you should read Robert Hughes' book, a Culture of Complaint. It's all about Americans like you.
