I just aquired a Westnofa lounger that I can't seem to find any images of, nor any information from the web.
it has a simple shape of the back and seat portions positioned on what could be described as an angular letter C for a base, with the open part of the C facing the front. What is unusual about it is, because of the shape, the front of the seat is suspended from the front of the letter C base with wide brown leather belts and brass buckles like you'd see holding up the jeans on a hippie in 1972. The rest of the construction and materials is similar to other Westnofa loungers- with a bent laminate base and similar fasteners and hardware. I know in the absence of an image it may be hard to visualize, but has anyone seen something like this?
Please advise as to name/model and vintage if you have. Thanks.
Westnova A/S has been...
making a number of these open mirrored "C" shape chairs since Ingmar Relling designed the first "Siesta" chair for Westnova in 1965. It was very succesful and could almost be credited for pulling Norway back into the "Scandinavian" family, at least as far as design is concerned. It does not seem unlikely that Westnova and Relling produced a number of variations on the original design. A picture would be worth 1000 words...
Us too!
My girlfriend has this Westnofa reclining chair as well. I have searched endlessly for information but have found nothing. The best so far is that I saw one sold on Ebay with matching ottoman.
If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.
