Does anyone know how to take apart USM Haller shelving. I'm stumped. There are allan wrench heads in the small ball corners. Don't those hold a small shaft that the chrome bar slides onto. This old set I found needs a paint job before they go in the kids room. Any help would be great.
I haven't done it, but here's what I know.
1. USM really don't want you to assemble or disassemble their products yourself; the Haller products are shipped fully assembled and aren't designed to be reconfigured or expanded once installed. Everyone says that it's much harder than it looks to take them apart and put them back together.
2. There's a set of special tools used by USM and their authorized technicians. I don't know whether the special tools are necessary, or just convenient.
3. Yes, that screw goes to a cylindrical connector. The image below shows how the connector expands.
