.
I'll put my hand up!
I was heavily inspired by an old Wales movie that contained a scene of a Kitchen cabinet full with 'Crocus' pattern Clarice Cliff way back in the early 80s....Well I sort of filled that inspiration then sold them all when they became mainstream...things to regret!
I think 'I dream of Jeannie's' Egg chair had me thinking again way back in the 70's
You're not alone!

Guilty!
Just today, I was watching a 1953 movie with William Holden and David Niven. Holden was a "Swinging Bachelor" type whose apartment was furnished with:
A Saarinen Womb chair
A Noguchi coffee table
4 or 5 Eames "Bikini" PKW chairs w/dowel legs
Assorted cool accessories that I couldn't ID.
I watch the 40s-70s era movies every morning with breakfast just to look at the interiors!
It's a sickness, I know...

Also guilty
One of my faves is "Bell, Book and Candle", which was the inspiration for the TV show Bewitched. In one scene a burning piece of paper was dropped into a stunning, large Natzler volcanic glazed bowl. Many other delights as well. This movie had me calling my cat Piewackit for a while.

Executive Suite
Not only is there lots of cool, modern furniture at William Holden and June Allyson's house in this movie, the whole film is about the head of a huge furniture company kicking the bucket and the fight about whom will be appointed to take over.
Wonderful flick, sports fans.

"Executive Suite"
The MGM film, starring William Holden, Fredric March, June Allyson, Barbara Stanwyck, Paul Douglas, Dean Jagger and others from 1953 is a wonderful drama about a Furniture Manufacturer. Holden and Allyson's house is full of nifty period modern furniture.

I saw
Jacques Tati's "Play Time" today. I am a big Hulot fan. This one is a comedic critique of modern everything. It is gentle and very funny. And the visuals are all modern all the time. I think I would replace my favorite chair with the special prop lobby chair. It is a perfect movie for this thread. If you wanted a Hulot primer (my recommendation), see "Trafic" first.

Rear window is indeed not to...
Rear window is indeed not to be missed, a superb concept for storytelling.
I can suggest some movies by Jacques Tati as Mon Oncle and Playtime! I love all films by Tati, he's (was) a genius.
edit: glassartist beat me to it!
