Garden piece?
Material?
Any signature, foundry or edition markings to show us closeups of?
And, really, Mark. We simply must know the artist's name.
But, until then, I shall pronounce it to be a somewhat elegant, competent, and charming group evocative of the period and an entirely appropriate addition to your growing collection. My only hesitation once again, as with the mirror, concerns scale.
Could it be that you are finally outgrowing your space up there on the 7th floor?
If it turns out
to have no particular significance, it would make a dandy coloring book. That is, Mark could stock up on artist's acrylics and have some creative fun. Gray is a lovely starting place for the palette -- any palette. Renaissance golds and jewel tones ? Impressionist pastels ? Fauvist boldness ?
Or keep it simple -- paint it white. Or black. First apply something like a coat of clear rubber, so no pigment gets permanently embedded ? I like the piece well enough, but it seems to want something . . . as exciting as the combination of alloy and concrete does sound !
it looks cool
in the bookshelf alcove as pictured. I don't mind the grey at all. Of course it would look great outside too. I love concrete sculpture.
So Mark, what did it say to you? (I'm dying to know, especially if you were blazed when you bought it!)
You've become very adventurous lately with the mirror, the bell, and now the sculpture.
Thanks all.
Eameshead, all three of the woman were speaking at once, and it became difficult to decipher what the hell they were rambling on about. I do recall the short one was all angry about being born a Siamese triplet, and hated doing the carnival freak show tour as a child, but loved the movie "E.T".. The middle one was going on and on about how "hard headed" her sisters are, and how she hates her legs. The tall one is the quiet one, but she does like to drink. If I can get those strong delivery boy's back here this morning, I'll have them lug the silly thing out onto the patio.
It was all a blur...
