I recently was given a Thaden Jordan molded plywood chair. Its two simple pieces. One makes up the four legs and the seat while the other piece makes the back and is connected to the first piece under the seat.
I love it but can't really find any history about it. The sticker underneith is partially ripped off but what is there has a "T/J" logo and says "Thaden-Jordan Molded Plywood Furniture" and an ink stamp that says Thanden Jordan Furniture Corporation." I was told it was part of a dinning room set at one time.
Does anyone know anything about this? When it was made? Who designed it? Was there a mid-century molded plywood movement inspired by the Eames? I'm an aspiring Modernist connoisseur and would love to know more.
