There are quite a few similar versions of this square table with draw leafs, with many of those by generic Danish fabricators. I'm not exactly sure who can first be credited with the design.
I think they are perfect for the modern kitchen table in both the closed and opened layouts.
In my kitchen, I have a similar rosewood design by Carlo Jensen in 1966 for Poul Hundevad. This design varies from yours in that it has turned legs and is designed as a games table with reversable top (black vinyl on the opposite side).
Table top edges also vary from design to design.
