Hi there,
I have this teak sideboard that is stamped Sven Andersen Mobelfabrikk, Stavanger.
I've been able to find a few additional pieces online with the same marking, but what I am trying to figure out is - who is Sven Andersen? Is this the designer or manufacturer? If it is the manufacturer - who might have designed this piece? Is this Danish or Norwegian? Etc.
If anyone has any information or has come across this name - please let me know.
Many thanks!

Well Stavanger is in Norway. That makes it Norwegian, end of story. But møbelfabrikk with the double "kk" is the Norwegian spelling, which confirms what we know from the location.
Also little details like the piano hinges and the doors with only keyholes and no handles are very Norwegian touches. So it strongly looks Norwegian. Also, I suspect the drawer fronts and legs are Afrormosia, which is another very Norwegian detail. They just did credenzas a bit differently than the Danes.
There were a lot of little shops all over Scandinavia that made furniture back then. It can be very hard to find information about many of them. And this is doubly true of the Norwegian ones.
