I saw these really great tables in a tea house in manhattan and was curious if anyones ever seen them anywhere...
small square wooden table with stools that fit perfectly under them and can be pulled out to use. they're a great space saver!

No, but.........
I was in ikea just last week (here in the uk) and saw a small round table with four seats that fit into each quater, a great space saving measure like you say. I presume it's out of the new catalogue due out in September. It was certainly drawing some attention.

I saw that too
...at the Burbank Ikea near Los Angeles, CA... I haven't been in an Ikea in ages, and I was pretty impressed with some of their new stuff... that table with chairs was really well thought out and constructed well, too. They seem to be moving away from that painted gray metal which destroyed so many designs into polished nickel or chrome... nice to see.

another practical and inexpencive solution from Ikea. They really deserve credit for that.

While looking at...
Tilanus' link to the IKEA website in the Netherlands I I was surprised by the differences between what is available in Holland and what is available here. I used to see the British catalogue and noticed some differences with the Canadian one but never to this extend...so even large international retailer that promotes it's own (swedish) culture has to take local cultural differences into account in order to be succesful....so much for an international style...
