Ah -- a

they really are great books, kinda like little Golden books for big people, They have enough great stuff that you need to know and omit a bunch of stuff that you don't need to know ,
It appears that their are 25 in the collection some of the designers and architects I have never heard of.

Spaceship LA
When they (the Publishers) first started Taschen and perhaps it is still so, they operated out of an ultra modern futuristic house in the Hollywood Hills that is shaped like a spaceship on stilts . Their house was used as a set in the movie Body Double starring Craig Wasson and Melanie Griffih, just a small bit of trivia as they were neighbors (the house, not the Taschen guys)of mine when I lived on the west coast. A very cool place to lay one's head, especially when viewed just as the sun was going down, more so after a few cocktails.

just finished another one
I just finished reading the case study houses published by Taschen was a great read I was going to ask my fellow DA folks how many case study homes were commissioned and the answer was right there 28
1965 1966 They ended and this final one is very similar to my home built in 1964
these books for the money are great they retail at Taschen in NYC L.A. for around 9.99 but you can pick them up on Amazon for a round 6.39 plus 3.99 to mail it (a rip)
I just saw Taschen new store in NYC in the brand new Interior Design magazine , what a fun looking store to buy books. great murals on the walls , if you like cool commercial design pick up a copy of the magazine or go visit the store,
I am really impressed with this publishing company out of Germany they really seem to have a
handle on all things now !!!
They of course are really big with Architectural publishing and modern design.

.
1)
Yes in English and Italian, as the magazine itself.
2)
Oh, Domus!, for those who asked if was or not a good design magazine?
The best from domus 1928-1999. I ,d love to see the of 1930 design with the critique domus,s eye. Great!
3)
Which is the difference between a book and a magazine?, I asked myself when I was a student and saw some Domus. Then I founded closer to books.
By the way, I love Taschen books, and I find them closer to magazines?
P.S.:
As says Lee Honan Australian,s reviewer from Amazon:
If you're interested in design, architecture etc, sell a kidney and get it...

Thanks for the tidbit
If you're interested in design, architecture etc, sell a kidney and get it...
I am lucky i don't need to sell a kidney to get the books, but if i did my brother is a world famous kidney specialist in Houston Tx that speaks around the world on Renal disease and Kidney dialysis. He could more than likely get me a good deal on another one, or i could ask my identical twin brother if he could spare one since we are a match.

Chanukah is a coming
I looked at the price and it is 600.00 U.S. I will ask the wife to get this for me , she always wants to get me something worth while and that looks worth while. It will keep me in my my room for at least 3 months, any thing that Charlotte and Peter Fiell do is great stuff, as i have all of their books in my library,
