edited to add: sorry, didn't realize there was another whole thread about this outfit. I missed it the first time around--- http://www.designaddict.com/forum/General-discussion/Terry-Jones-Quran-B...
Ouch.
Aren't there a lot of people that use them on Ebay? I never used them because they did not come this way. Seemed to mostly move through the south and up the east coast. All those people that bought things on Ebay last week that now have to ship using TSC are going to be scrambling. You think with gas prices going down, a shipping company could make it these days.Whatever you do, don't use Uship. I once had a nightmare with a company that immediately took my money, said they would ship an item, held it on their lot for six weeks and demanded a ransom from me of 300 cash to get it back. The sight is full of a lot of scammers.
I am affected by this situation. I purchased something on ebay and I have paid them but they never picked the item up. (Which is good for me, at this point). I started calling about 2 weeks ago and their voicemail was full. I left an email regarding the lack of communication and I received this reply 2 days later.
"TS & Company LLC is insolvent and is not able to continue doing business.
We regret this greatly.
You can be assured your furniture is wrapped and intact.
If your item has already been picked up then all items will be available forpick up at our Atlanta location between the dates of February 1st throughFebruary 10th between 8am and 5pm.
1649 Sands Place Marietta, GA 30067
Proper identification and paperwork will be required to receive any items.
Sincerely,TS & Company LLC"
I will have to find another shipper, get a refund from them and not to mention my furniture has been sitting with the patient seller for over 30 days now. I am quite shocked by this, they had good reviews and my seller has used them numerous times.
NIGHTMARE. Ugh. So sorry!
Don't mean to be negative, but I'm sort of feeling like if they are insolvent and have declared bankruptcy, you won't be getting a refund. Their assests are probably frozen. You'll have to wait for the bankruptcy trustee to figure out what there is and what you are owed. It is usually pennies on the dollar, a'la Bernie Madoff.
Plycon is the other major shipper I think. Greyhound has been okay for me in the two experiences I've had with them. But their is no way to track packages and they only insure up to 300 dollars.
Keewee: I use Greyhound whenever I can. For items that are too large, fragile, or valuable for Greyhound, I use Craters & Freighters ( https://www.cratersandfreighters.com/).
Interesting reading about this company and the people who own it.
