I thought the interior in the first scene and in M's apartment were really cool. And, a very stylish movie all around. Daniel Craig is a dream (but back to the design issue).

Any thoughts?

Ken Adam and 007
If you are a fan of James Bond interiors, you might want to check out Ken Adam (born 1921). This guy is responsible for designing a lot of the gadgets & larger than life decors for some of the earlier 007 films.
Focus Knack is doing a feature on him this week & apparently there is also an exhibition until Jan 7 th in Ghent (Caermersklooster) concerning the production design he did for Dr. Strangelove & Barry Lyndon (two Kubrick movies).
Short resume according to Knack, Adam was involved in the production design of:
Dr. No (1962): with the Tarantula room
Goldfinger (1964): Fort Knox rebuilt & gadgety Aston Marin
Thunderball (1965): underwaterscenes in the Bahamas / deadly conference chair
You only live twice (1967): with the impressive volcano crater
Diamonds are Forever (1971): penthouse, allegedly inspired by Howard Hughes
The Spy who loved me (1977): renaissance palazzo under water
Moonraker (= last film Adams designed for 007 series) (1979): NASA Space Station

Bond Girl
In my heart of hearts I have always been a bit of a Bond Girl. I love all the kitchy 60's/70's cocktail-swillin' swank and the cool interiors too. But, I don't think I'll be seeing Casino Royal. Daniel Craig is just not Bond. He may be a fine actor and all, but Bond is NOT supposed to look like a buffed-up muscleboy who breaks faces for a living. The true Ian Fleming Bond may be 'licensed to kill' but he is at best in a tux, sipping a 'shaken-not-stirred' whilst canoodling with his latest conquest. And a blond Bond...scandalous!

Open your mind
Oh, come on, don't be so narrow minded. So what if he is blond- are you suggesting you have to be dark to be suave and sophisticated? Oh, and I think Sean C broke a few faces in his time- not a bad body either!
Anyway, I was talking mostly about the interiors- really well done.

robbie for bond!
robbie williams for bond! he's naughty and has fire in his eyes. but this has nothing to do with design has it. Or how image is important...as well for an actor as for a designer...

Heck I'm blond and I think I'm quite sophisticated, thank you!
007, it's nothing to do with that, it's just that the character of Bond Ian Fleming developed and until now the Brocholi family has tried to represent doesn't look a think like Mr. Craig. Actually the best physical representation was Pierce Brosnan, but Sean Connery will always be 'the Bond' for me. Not that it was a difficulty looking at Mr. Brosna, mind you...gorgeous gorgeous man. He would look well draped on a Citterio sofa with a Castiglioni lamp above him 😉
