I agree. Some chairs are best in numbers. Saarinen's tulip always looks odd to me when it's left alone.

for all these great suggestions, many of which have been on the long list. Paulanna makes a great point about it not looking like a leftover dining chair (although sadly this certainly wouldn't be the case with any of these chairs). Still thinking...

If you're not going to sit in it that much, that you might as well have it look great.
Go for something beautiful and sculptural.
My vote would go to the CH_07 Wing chair for a stand-alone hall way piece.
It may be a lounge chair, but that makes it a great height for tying laces no 😀
I'd pick the Nelson Pretzel Chair over the Cherner though. But then I'm biased.
