Well I see pitting on the base of the lamp and the only way to restore that is having it replated. You might be able to take very fine steel wool (000) and see if that works. It there is a film it's probably lacquer and will come off with elbow grease. If it's brass or Copper try some Ketchup on it as it will brighten up the copper or brass. I think you have wood on there to. You can take apart the total lamp and refinished wood if it's bad. If now take some Danish oil that matches the wood to it. Also while your at it you might as well replace the wiring and socket and it's ready for a shape. Hope that helps. S
