I understand...
...that Modernica seems to have a rather inconsistent behaviour in the area of respecting Intellectual property. My point is not about Modernica but about providing truthful information versus expressing an opinion.
It could very well be that Modernica is in fact very consistent and simply applies the law as it has been written. According to the laws on intellectual property protection they are entitled to produce any product of which the protection has expired?which is the case for most of the models designed by Charles and Ray Eames. Copyrights on the name last much longer (50 years after the year in which the ?creator? passed away) so there are still some limitations there. There might also be some patents that are still valid, not the ones owned by Eames, but possible original and inventive improvements that were based on these first patents. In my opinion, this site deserves to make a clear difference between information and opinion, especially when the opinion is based on other than legal considerations.
