Dear all,

Recently i got a Stelton 1L Vacuum Jug designed by Eric Magnussen from Ebay, however i found the jug was full of coffee oil / dirt inside, any good suggestion to clean it up?

Thanks all.

From the instruction manual...
CLEANING:
Do not use any tool, such as a wire brush, to clean the glass filler. The glass wall is delicate and any damage may cause the glass to shatter. Rinse the jug with clear water after use and, if necessary, add a little coarse salt and shake it. Limescale or stubborn tea and coffee stains may be removed by using a little dishwasher detergent, dissolved in hot water. Rinse the jug carefully after cleaning. Never clean the jug in a dishwasher. If it is difficult to separate the parts of the jug, when replacing any of them, immerse it in tepid water for an hour or two. Otherwise never leave the jug immersed in water as it is not totally watertight and water could get between the outer casing and the glass filler.

It's
just like any other vacuum flask when it comes to cleaning.. only it's better designed, and in fact a lovely object (I have one in black)
('sounds like an arse' 'looks like an arse' ..you really do sound anally-fixated :))

As uber sophisticated as...
As uber sophisticated as many Americans are on this forum, and as much as I get into design, I'm still from London. I can't help that.

When I had
my coffeebar back in the day, we cleaned our airpots with these two items. Sparkling clean, every day.
The Puro Caff, of course, is the key. Don't know what's in it, but when you are serving hundreds of servings of coffee per day, it is your best friend.
The only time we broke our glass inserts was when the dishwasher had a hangover. (Which, actually, was quite often).

BTW, not that anyone cares,
but Zojirushi airpots are the best, by far. You can pump them thousands and thousands of times and they are like Timex watches. They just keep on tickin'.
