MANIFESTO draft

Sketches

Unconnected ideas.

Points to develop another manifesto

Manifestoing and Manifesting rather than issuing a manifesto.

All this was in the drawer. Open the drawer:

M A N I F E S T O . I N . A . P I C T U R E
A picture better than a thousand words

It,s like the the guy driving the car is a designer, driving in a catastrophe and consider to be an entertainment for the ,,final users,,. (Driving between two worlds)

From
Spencer Platt, World Press photo of the year 2006. Picture shows a group of young Lebanese driving through a South Beirut neighborhood devastated by Israeli bombings. Picture taken on 15Agust2006. The jury said: ,,has the complexity and contradiction of real life, admits chaos, makes you look beyond the obvious. ,,

Here are the two or three starting points:
1.
A V O I D . G O O D . T A S T E
Avoid ,,good taste,,, and I do not mean ,avoid beauty,. But if it's a little bit difficult to see the difference, avoid both. Yes better avoid both.
We know where 'good taste' could drive us. Here we are!
Why not explore what Ugliness could teach us?
Since begin of XXI, contemporary art dosen't need to looks for beauty.
Head Book: On Ugliness, by Umberto Eco. (Although I didn't read it yet)

Narcissus
Now, I'll introduce you Narcissus, People say he is from Greek mythology, But I.m pretty sure he was indeed a cousin of all of us.
The beautiful boy, so beautiful, so beautiful, that coudn't find such a comparable beauty in the world to share with, so finally fall in love with him-self, after looking at a mirrored self-image.

Mirrors
Oh mirrors!
Espejito espejito, dime quien es el mas bonito!
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is fairest of them all?"
The magic mirror from Snow White, Grimm brothers.

Indeed I wanted to say:
Not follow beauty as an end itself, yes as a way to archive a stronger content.
Or move the beauty from the center.
Opps!, first design:
How could be the most beautiful furniture in the world?, The one made entirely with mirrors,
e n t i r e l y, inside outside, Will fit every customer!, will consider everyone, the most beautiful in the world, cause it will reflect his/her own image!

I see it as an emerging movement. As an answer to
Please tell me, Is this REEEAL?,
After all, all knoff offs, are real, I mean, all knoff-offs are real, if they don't want to be like other.
Better to be a bad original, than a good copy. An original is always an original, and a copy a copy.
But not, I mean to play the COPY GAME. So if we could find bad copies, How can be the worst
Copies one can do, one can imagine. Something like a kitsch-camp, that beginning.
Or exploring new ways, to find another beauty.
I propse it as a Mockery,a joke, an answer to top brands, to copyrights, to all that.
P.S.
No offense to collectors, etc. It's OK to look for the originals for them, for museums, after all them are history (or prehistory). But to designers, no way. In the begging of DA discussions about that, I was quite impressive with the idea to look for originals, but it,s like a trap, the more you want to get out, the more deep you get in.
I didn't post there, I didn't wanted to be the most bore of the party.
Not laugh so much, we could learn more here than in all that prehistory!
Not laugh at all!
Really future masterpieces!
I loved it this thread. (thanks Brent and Marktulip)
