Was walking through my neighborhood this afternoon and what should catch my eye (in the garbage) but a Sol Bloom Catch it All. After looking at it closely, however, it seems too new/clean to be an original edition. All iron frame surfaces are plasticized as are the welds on the bottom of the frame. It also has hard plastic/rubber feet in near perfect condition. As an aside, there are a couple of areas (near the weldsand where the plastic coating has dissapeared) that have significant oxidation/rust. My question is whether anybody has recently re-issued/knocked off the catch it all? If so, who and where can it be found? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Sol Bloom was a sculptur who designed some mesh and iron furniture for a company called New Dimensions Furniture. To be honest, although the catch it all is an iconic mid century design...I don't know much more than that about Mr. Bloom

I have scoured the web for more info on Sol Bloom and the Catch it All. A "scoop chair" was just auctioned yesterday at treadway/toomey. ( see link) I also just found a table top version of the catch it all that sold on ebay with the same plastic feet that mine has. Maybe mine is an original after all?

Sol Bloom....
My Sol Bloom catch-it-all doesn't have a plasticized coating, nor does it appear that it ever had one.
That is not to say that they never produced them with a coating, however, I have never seen any. Perhaps, it was applied by a previous owner?

I have discovered that Modernica reissued these for a short time several years ago. They no longer make them...but my best guess is that what I found is one of these reproductions. That said, I'm still very pleased to have found it.

Form and dimmensions are...
Form and dimmensions are identical. Only difference seems to be the manner in which the iron is covered. Originals were enamel paint, the newer ones have a matte black hard rubberized coating.
