I reaaaaaalllly want a sofa! I have a small danish love seat and chair (green wool) that belonged to my parents. I don't have a ton of money and I've been eyeing the ones made by Overman. Do you like? Any other recommendations? I missed an Overman this past week on CL. Argh. ($300).

Overman sofas are
ok if you're not into stretching out or slouching. They're more of an sit upright sofa, despite their comfy-looking curves. Also, they're made of a single piece of molded styrofoam with only 1/2" to 1" of foam on it---not a sofa you sink into.

but nice lines...
... and nice color, and they don't take up a lot of space. Good "lift" off the ground. Overall, it is a very pleasing sculptural object. I have always liked the look of that sofa.
But yeah, I have a nelson daybed with too-hard foam and its like a PLANK. So give it a good comfort test, and definitely heed spanky's post above!

yeah...
i hear you. and, to that point, it's very similar to the love seat/chair I already have (or maybe the colour is so similar, they look a lot alike). It's a dilemma. One one hand, I want the "look" but on the other...well, obviously, sinking into something comfy really appeals as well. Nothing worse than having people over and everyone's stuck with the "hard" seat 🙂 EamesHead, the Nelson sofa with the buttons? Alas, I have a budget. If only...

no buttons...
just a plank of foam on a frame, and two foam bolster back rests. I think you might be thinking of the black Mies van der Rohe daybed? With a round bolster at one end...

There's no such thing as over posting, darling.
Well...maybe. I over post...and so does one of the other poster's (nameless, but rhymes with "gun-movie-lude"). I happen to like your green sofa. As long as you don't nap on it, I see no reason to be concerned about your houseguest's comfort. They should be doing other things like helping you in the kitchen, dancing in the dining room, or shagging in the bedroom. The shape of you sofa makes me smile.
just a thought,
Aunt Mark
