It's a normal situation: not enough advertising = no cost coverage.
It's called: free market economy.

So sorry to hear that Modernism Magazine has been suspended. A friend told me that one of the issues a few years back contained a vintage ad showing a dining room set by Johnson Furniture with black metal legs and blonde slatted wood. This same friend mentioned to me that it looked a lot like the shelving unit/console table I inherited from my deceased parents. Does anyone on this site happen to have collected the magazine and know of this ad? I would love to finally put this search to rest and get a name of this Johnson line, if possible. I emailed Modernism a number of months ago, and received no answer (It appears with good reason). Thank you, everyone!
