Question yes, theory no. ...
Question yes, theory no. View the left side slotted screw. Follow the slot groove. It ends just before an outer ring. Unless I'm mistaken, that outer ring is a washer. Is it original, I don't know.
Semantics, I'm sorry it was meant to differentiate between the solid line and dashed line. Argumentive is good, it seeks an answer if done constructively. Stubbornness attempts to stymie the answer.

I think you are mistaking...
I think you are mistaking the abrasive lines (caused by the machining process) on the screw heads as two separate items the screw and a washer. This is not the case. If you look closely the lines on the two screws are inconsistent distances up the head too. Meaning that if they were washers they would be different thicknesses.

Yes, that screw looks...
Yes, that screw looks original to me. I've seen these flat heads on the early chairs before. I'm not opposed to learning that this is a washer but it would be a new one on me. I would have to see it in person to be convinced.

Ok, the washer I suspect this...
Ok, the washer I suspect this to be is called a spherical washer. In this case, the inner and outer edge is bevel. The inner bevel allows the screw to be flush with washer. Which is why I see an "outer" ring circling the screw head. Outer bevel allows for even pressure, preventing cracks in the material (wood). Cosmetically, looks super clean and professional. While not common, they are used in furniture.

Another example. Better....
Another example. Better and indeed not an isolated thing.
Spherical washers/screw to screws at the top (typical construction), you'll see the difference.

My pleasure. I'm glad we're...
My pleasure. I'm glad we're having this discussion! Emerging from these washer questions, I now propose a theory. The washer combined with the postage stamp label, is indicative of production run. What year I don't know. To my knowledge, we don't see this washer incorporated elsewhere. If you observe the 1946 brochure, you'll see the cohesive design elements between the brochure and the stamp label. Production year??? I can't say. Eames Office has a 1946 label posted. This label, is a round Evans emblem supported upon a rectangular base...like a mantle clock or hood ornament. I always suspected the postage stamp label was post-marquee label and pre herman miller foil label. Another mystery to solve.

eames chair(s) on ebay
I'm a bit shocked about what is happening on ebay regarding this eames chair. I hope this was a singular case. I was watching different DCW's for a few month - and now I bought one (item 200576648041). It has no label/decal on it - maybe therefore it wasn't too expensive. Please don't tell me it is a fake or something.

Aside from the mucked up shockmount on the back, that looks right. The details are correct for Evans production and it's not uncommon at all for the label to be missing.
