Hello,

Please reference the web link to a recently completed eBay item. I am trying to find out about the origins of this piece. I've done some searching on the internet about Singer, but can't find anything pertinent. Does anyone have an idea of the company's origins and to whom this piece could've potentially been attributed? Many thanks.

Hello please don't get singer furniture of Canada confused with M. Singer & Sons of Newyork.Firstly; M Singer & Sons made furniture of the highest quality ,and alot of it was designed by the likes of Carlo Mollino ,Gio Ponti ,Bertha Schaefer ,and Carlo Di Carli.On the other hand Singer furniture of Montreal was a totally different company ,and really didn't have any high end pieces.There stuff isn't designer ,and is more retro kitsch than anything.Although; I have seen a nice rosewood sofa made by that company.
