I just bought a vintage Danish Teak dining set on CL, at first glance the small pics didn't look like anything special, but a little searching and a request for larger images I saw obvious similarities to a set of Kurt Ostervig chairs online going for $2450, and this was for one armchair and 3 side chairs. This set includes a 52" round solid teak table, 2x24" leaves, 6 side chairs and two armchairs all in GC. A little fading and some light water marks but nothing terrible. So the only thing is that there is no makers mark; I'm wondering if you can take a quick look and give me you opinion as to if they are in fact KO chairs or just knockoffs? I can take pics of the bottoms later and post them. I don't imagine the table is his, but that would be cool. Thanks in advance!

BTW I paid very little for the set so even if it's a knockoff it's still a great value! The second image is of the chairs I found online.

Mike

Not Kurt
but Harry Østergaard chairs for randers møbler.
1961 model 59
Excellent chairs
the table is looking like one from GUDME but no certain as there are so limited information and I can on gleam so much from the images.
Worth every penny of $2400

Thanks!
So I guess they were mistaken but you sound pretty sure, down to the year and model #! I will post some pics of the table once it's in the house.

No lip
Tell me to mind my own business, but I think you might find the Harry Ostergaard chair doesn't have the lip at the back of the splat..

I had a quick look on the...
I had a quick look on the Danish index. Sure the model 59 had no lip ?? The reason I'm quizzing it is that I too picked up a set of six, ( no carvers) and have been going round the same circles as Guy

Simon,
I'm going to be in London this weekend staying in Sloane Square. Any chance you're going to the big city this weekend? We could meet at Bermondsey or Portobello, you pick!

Lip?
Eh, mine have a distinct lip at the top of the backrest. But besides that they are the same. They are due do arrive at their new home in Chicago in a couple weeks. Didn't sell, just moved 😉
A few of the chairs are pretty wobbly, might have to have them tighened up. Any suggestions since they are glued? Take em to a Pro?
