Hello. Happy Friday..!!! I was downstairs moving my shag wall hanging around, and forgot I had this back there with it. I'm sure it's a long shot, but wondered if anyone recognized the name. I'm thinking Magritte...:) Judging by the colors, and style it appears to be 80's to me. It's on plywood. The paint is extremely thick, and has an iridescence in various areas. Mega Glossy. It's pretty cool. 40" in diameter. Any ideas?

lol....
Probably not as much art as the last one...;) But kinda cool. I wish I had a way to get them to show. It's a real painting. Very cool. If someone wants to delete the thread until I get the photobucket problem fixed, I can re-post. I would be fine with that. Keep everyone from wasting their time in here till then. Sorry everybody.
You have
to be patient, and understanding with me SDR. I deal in a lot of different types of art, for a lot of different types of people. I've sold over 700 items now through my ebay store, and I've covered time periods from 1800 all the way to the 1990's. I know there's so many different tastes out there, you can't like everything, and I probably shouldn't bring it all to this forum, cuz I know it doesn't all fit. I guess it's just nice to have an audience to show it to. And I like seeing your guys response, regardless if it's good or bad.
But I buy from so many periods, and have sold so much stuff, you'd be amazed at what's out there, when you try to weave all that time together to provide something for everybody. It's really tough. I can't hardly take it all in anymore as one person. I'm stacked with stuff, and I'm doing the job of 4-5 people, plus running my asphalt sealcoating company on the side...by myself. I'm thinking about going to a website like parterup or something to try and find a business partner soon, so I can be an all day buyer, and cut out my other jobs to cover more ground faster, to bring more art to more people.
It makes you feel really good to get feedback saying you changed someone's life from a piece of art, or beloved toy you sold them. But I've got 60 items on ebay now, and probably 500 more to list, so I'm falling way behind. It's hard trying to be the shopper, the buyer, the researcher, the photographer, the write-up guy, the salesman, the packager, and the shipper....with 40 estate sales per week to still go to, 300 garage sales, 9 auctions, 3 weekend flea markets, and countless thrift stores. It's overwhelming. I really love art, but damn! I just can't chase it fast enough to keep up.
Honestly. I think I could have my own tv show... really. You'd be blown away, if you saw some of the stuff I've went through. Here's my write up on Flickr about the rare 1940's Converse Skoots I sold to the Converse museum last year. I had em shining like a diamond. Final hammer price..... $2,800.00. My 5th Museum item...Yay.

Surely not Magritte
Magritte didn't use any iridescent paint as far as I know. He stuck to rather traditional "workman like" approaches as far as the paint application went.
Also, all of his paintings that I have seen had a very matte surface finish, never shiny.
(I say this without having seen the image yet)
I was just
joking EH. It's from the 1980's, not 1890's...:) I just wanted to see everyone laugh. The joke would have been funny if you'd got to see the piece right then, cuz you'd no there's no way it woulda been him. I just had to say it cuz it was signed Rene..:) And my darn pictures still will not show up. I'm beginning to really dislike photobucket. They screw you around all the time. Their failures, and dumb ideas are targeted at random on live audiences, just like what they're doing with my account right now. I would love to find another great hosting site, but have been loyal to them since 2006, and hate to leave and change all those photos in ebay, and blogs and such. Very frustrating though, to say the least.
