Well luckily, this little cabinet survived without the sliding door's having a lock/key added. I had a hell of a time locating mine sans-the- lock..until a wonderful little fundraiser at Cranbrook happened one bitter December night, many full moons ago. There sat my future case good. Florence would be so proud.
but I digress.......
The legs reflect
the style that Steel Case pieces have. Additionally, I was traveling through my wife's college and there were these Knoll like three seat benches that had the same hollowed out legs with white caps. Naturally, I had to look underneathe and the manufacturer was? Perhaps I will take another trip.
Furthermore, in the future I will work on the redundancy of furniture identifications. Perhaps I will start posting our trips to Palm Springs and the amazing desert design that we are encountering.
Lastly, were are heading to New Haven in two weeks and have plans to tour New Caanan. More specifically, the Harvard Five houses. It would be great to meet any forum members who live out that way to give us ideas on what we should set out to observe. Blessings and may peace be with you.......
It be cool if it was...
I looked at all the pics and its really similar to the ones on Google, I feel like it would say Knoll somewhere you know? But maybe not.
What makes me doubt that it is the work of Florence Knoll is the fact that the top is a laminate top (just the top)... Everything else seems to be correct and Solid wood, it is very possibly that the original top is under it and someone put the laminate top on to get rid of scratches, this thing must have come from a school of abusive kids, i had to sand it down to get it to look even this good, they had wrote there names all in the insides too! but its all off now.
Anyway heres a few pics of it...
On this one its showing that the top is laminate, its also a dark smokey brown vs. the red wood or teak.
Thankss guyss
A laminate top was an option...
A laminate top was an option on Knoll credenzas. However, I can't tell if your credenza has an original top.
This is a photo of a 1958 Knoll credenza with walnut veneer and a laminate top. The colour of the top appears to be similar to yours.

does anyone have any idea where the logo could be found on it, I know that Knoll sometimes Hides them oddly enough, one of my chairs has it discretely pressed into the iron, it would take a long time to find for an average guy.
I havent looked Hard yet. but will tonight to see what i can come up with.
