I saw this reproduction the other day and considered buying it until I noticed that it was a terrible repro...
The second chair
may be not so much a "terrible repro" as an Eames-inspired variation ? The arm structure makes no attempt to copy the Eames design, for example, but instead appears to be a logical alternative design.
Eames Aluminum Group
The reason why I like the Aluminum Group is because of the way the arm rest is attached to the frame...key to the design and in my opinion, makes the design. I would definitely buy a repro because it's a beautiful chair but I wouldn't buy the one above.
