There is this house not too far from me and I really wish someone could properly restore this place. A local architect built it for himself. It's been on the market for a couple of years.

Careful what you wish for, end of my street someone has just bastardised a nice little place, they obviously caught some retrovirus and thought they knew what they were doing.

The price has dropped.
Apparently, the last day to have the bids into the bank was Monday. It is my understanding that this house suffered from some foundation and structural problems caused by a drought we had. Also, rumor has it that there were issues with the title.
Such an amazing house. I hope who ever get it treats it with honor.

I'm in love, but I'm probably too poor to deal with major foundation issues 🙁
I could move a couple hours south for something like that. We never see modern architecture come up for sale in Des Moines.

I almost
bought a house in Corvallis that reminds me of that. Similar vibe, significant issues. I was going to fix it, decorate it, and rent it out to international visiting professors. Probably a good thing someone bought it.
Still shocking nobody has taken the risk. I would be very at ease living in that space.
