Hi,
I have a slow combustion stove (fire). Does anyone know whether it is safe for my Copco (Denmark) cast iron pot to go into the fire? I don't mind if the outside goes black. I'm more concerned that it might crack the enamel on the inside. [If I CAN put it into the fire, next to the hot coals anyway, I would be able to save power and cook at the same time as heating the house.]
Thank you,
Rasili (in Australia)

I have a lot of old Copco and
some of it has tiny craze marks inside, maybe from too-quick heating or too high heat, I dunno.
I'd get some un-enameled cast iron if I were you, just to be safe.
