anyone have an idea what the approximate cost would be to re upholster this chair? and new foam cushion if needed
or can it be cleaned?
With all the bed bug issues in the news I won't bring any vintage upholstered anything into the house

Not a lot
You would only need about 3 yards of fabric, Knoll now sells direct at Knolltextiles.com and have some great fabrics as low as $25-$30/yard.
If you live in a northern climate, just put the chair outside overnight in below freezing temperatures and you'll never had to worry about the bedbugs!

wow that's great! I actually have it in an outside building right now so that's good news about the cold temp killing any bed bugs as I am in the NE!!
