Long-time forum stalker, first time poster.
I picked this up a couple of weeks back, and I'm trying to determine authenticity before I sink any money into it for restoration.
The top is 16" of round white marble, and the bevel is Knoll - not that the bevel guarantees anything, but it's as it should be.
The base is very heavy, no parallel lines, etc, but the entire base and underside of the marble top are coated in a thick layer of spray paint. If a sticker was present, Smithsonian archaeologists couldn't excavate it from the crummily applied layers of spray.
No screw holes in the stem - just the mounting system in the photos below.
The micro-cast words on the anchors are "6 Star Tampin" which lead me to Interstate Screw Corp, though I could not find any connection to Knoll, Saarinen, etc.
SO.... whaddaya think?
