Hi all,
I've been struggling for a while to identify these dining chairs, they're beautifully made with sold rosewood frames. Sadly no makers marks, but I'm guessing they're Danish?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The shape
of the chairs has a similar look to some of Percival Lafer's design. And not unlike other Brazilian made mid century furniture.

I see where you are coming from,
but I'm not convinced that they're Brazilian. I think they're European; either Scandinavian or British.

Hi bj,
Good chance that they are British.
I have a fairly good knowledge of Archie Shine and I haven't seen anything that is similar enough. The sideboard legs would be round - these are more of an elliptical shape.

Found some on lauritz
Some of the same chairs sold on lauritz. Even the same turquoise upholstery. The seller claimed they are rosengren hansen for brande mobelindustri model 39. And further claimed literature to back it up: Mobilia nr. 104, marts 1964.
I can't speak for the accuracy of the identification. And brande model 39 by rosengren hansen tends to show photos of a different chair, which seems suspect.

They have never
been brande chairs and certainly not model 39.
I would at best attribute them to Danish inspired.
below are the real chairs:
Designed by Henry Rosengreen-Hansen
Produced by Brande Møbelindustri
Model 39,
Year of design 1963

Hi Simon,
I did further checks and noticed the same thing.
I also thought that they were British, however, when I was reupholstering the seats I found that they were all stamped Made in Denmark. The mystery continues...

I just noticed that this chair by Brande Mobelindustri
according to the attribution it was designed by Kofod-Larsen. I must say, the frame does look very similar, but there are also quite a few differences. It could be a lead though?
