My latest finds are interesting and good for comparison purposes.
The rosewood lcw is from the 1996 special edition batch. Despite not being vintage, the rosewood grain is still beautiful, especially the back. It's too bad that the seat isn't as quite striking. It looks like it has a lacquer finish on it.
The Santo lcm is a recent production but still beautiful in its own right. The grain is not as dramatic but uniform and grand.
In comparing the 2, it's hard to tell what's Brazilian rosewood and what Santos Palisander. Of course everyone loves rosewood but I must ask, are they really that different?
