I got a pair of these rosewood arm chairs last week. They had labels at one point, now missing. I found a few others on the web, also unidentified as to maker or country of origin. If anyone recognizes them, I would appreciate it.

The bottom tips of all the chair legs have a dark brown color to them, like they were stained by something. I have no idea what caused it - perhaps they stood in some water at one point, in a garage or basement. Otherwise the chairs/upholstery are almost like new.

office variant
If you picture this chair with the legs cut off and mounted on a wood and steel office base,I had the same one, right down to the upholsterytailoring. Mine was Dux, but not a Folke Olsen design. I remember when I was researching it I saw seemingly identical ones with different attribution, but mine was labeled or burn stamped and somewhere here at home I have source material that confirms.

We have one also
We just reupholstered it in leather. When we first got it, we thought perhaps it was Risom (the wood and construction) but the exposed fastener made me doubt it. I checked the vintage Risom catalogue we have and did not find the form. Then last month, I saw two others in olive green vinyl. They were marked "Made in Sweden" which would support the Dux attribution.

Oh, also
... ours is walnut, not rosewood. One of the reasons we were thinking it was Risom. The pair I saw last month were walnut also. Are you sure yours is rosewood? Hard to tell from your photo.

A couple of close-ups.
A couple of close-ups.
Thanks for all the information. This evening I came across some old cached versions of expired Craigslist ads for identical chairs, which also listed them as DUX.
