I was lucky enough to find a Cado wall unit on CL for ... get this ... $25. It has three bays, one three-drawer unit, two record storing units, three shallow shelves, two deeper shelves and a magazine rack. The uprights are the tension-rod style that can have shelves mounted on either side and used as a room divider. Other than some water damage to the shelves, it is the condition you would expect for a vintage piece. There is a link to the very poor CL picture below.

The problem is, the supports are too tall! We have 9ft ceilings and the place I want to put the unit has a soffit, making the unit supports too long.

I have three options, find other supports, the wall mounted type, sell the thing and get something that will work, or use one bay in a room with taller ceilings. I would prefer teak and some other components, so I am considering selling to get what I want.

What would be a reasonable price-range for the unit? How uncommon or desirable are the rosewood units? I have checked ebay, but I haven't seen any rosewood units, or those with what I am guessing less desirable record-storage boxes. If I keep enough pieces for one bay, and sell -off the other pieces, have I de-valued the piece?

For simplicity, I am strongly considering selling at the local mid-century consignment shop. I am also thinking ebay, but wonder if the shipping cost (this thing is HEAVY!) will scare buyers off.

I want to figure out what I am going to do with this quickly because I want to purchase another semi-local unit on ebay auction that ends in a few days.

I hate to give this up, it is gorgeous, the wood is so beautiful, and far surpasses any teak I have, but it may not (at least the whole unit) work in my space.

This is my first time trying to unload something like this, and I'm afraid of doing it wrong. Thanks for any help in advance!
