I have no idea who this is by.
Its 21st century I think. Very heavy so oak I presume.
If anyone has any idea, i'd be very grateful.

Photos can lie
But I think that is maple. And it would be very heavy.

Beech is also that color
and would maybe be a clue that it's Scandinavian, but who knows.

Would be helpful to know where you are located.
Not oak, not beech, but if it's maple it won't be scandinavian, in all probability.

how do you know that's its not beach and at the same time can't tell if it's either oak or maple?
I thought beach too when I saw the post

No way to ID wood species.
What I see is a yellowed varnish on what could be any one of a half dozen possibilities.
An in focus closeup showing both long and end grain would help.

Below is a link to a wood species ID site that might help you identify the wood. Maple and beech are often very close in color but the grain is pretty easy to identify once you know what to look for.
