A friend of mine showed me photos of a chair she bought 20 years ago to see if I could ID it. I knew I had seen the same chair before and located this photo from Treadway, which attributes it to Risom. However, I have my doubts - the frame seems just a little too...pretty...for Risom.

Am I being crazy? Any thoughts as to who, if not Risom, this might be?

Interesting chair
but all of the Knoll Risom armchairs with the webbing have a connecting piece of wood along the lower leg.
But, didn't Risom set up his own studio after leaving Knoll? I've not seen too many examples of his chairs...only tables and sofas in old Interiors Magazine ads.

Hmm
Australian designer Douglas Snelling made a few Risom-inspired pieces, but not like that one above. The details on the frame look decidedly Danish...

Bugger, I have details on this chair on the other computer and in a book not here.
I'd say Snelling.

Sorry, couldn't find it anywhere, but I know I do have it. I found the image on my computer and it only had the filename "untitledd" which is something I wouldn't have called it. Will post info if I find it.

thanks Heath
I'm gonna dig some more on Snelling. I know I saw a chair webbed in white by him with matching ottoman....the ottoman is the key. 🙂

The seat frame reminds me of Bruno Mathsson's "eva chair"...

I agree
Looking at the Snelling works I think they have the same problems as Risom: The legs are a little too chunky, there is no beveling of the chair frame, and the arms aren't sculpted at all.
