We FINALLY acquired a Boris Lacroix for Disderot dog lamp after many years of searching. It has the original European wiring and socket and we were wondering if anyone can point us in the right direction on how to remove the old and where to find a new socket that would work (we're in the US) without completely destroying the lamp. The original is a plastic socket that is riveted to a metal tab. I've rewired dozens of lamps, just never one like this.

Socket Adaptor
Could you use a socket adapter instead of rewiring?

Can you post a picture of the socket-bracket connection? If you can't get a clear shot, you might be able to use a small mirror and photograph the reflection.
Also, can you post a picture of the rivet on the top side of the lamp?

For what its worth, I have a low wattage European lamp that I use as is with just a plug adapter. I didn't re-wire nor do I use a transformer...just a simple plug adapter and bingo.
