Hi. I inherited a pair of wooden lounge (slipper?) chairs from the 50's. I believe they are NOT any designer pieces, but I got them from an important person and intend to keep them.

I stripped away the seating upholstery and realized that the seating frame was not well made, so I gave up on the idea of re-covering them. However, the bases are in good shape and I really like their style.

Do you have any ideas for a use of this base for another piece of furniture? I'm thinking about finding a table top to make a coffee table, but I don't need another coffee table. I do need a sideboard/credenza, so perhaps I'll cut and shorten the depth of this base and attach to a box to make one. I also need a bed frame, but I don't know how to make a sturdy bed out of these...

The size is 24.5W x 26D x 14H (inch), consisting of 2 U-shaped legs, 2 (slightly sculpted/curved) pieces in between those, and 1 piece across those 2, and they can be easily disassembled. An L-shaped seat used to be on top of this frame, slightly slanted (leaned back). I have 2 identical pieces.

Any idea is appreciated!

A large ottoman/stool would be a fine idea. Simple enough work with potentially great results.

Ottoman!
That is a great idea! It's simple enough, even I can do it all by myself. I didn't think about that at all. Thanks, WoofWoof!

What do you think?
It was pretty easy and came out beautifully. Thanks again, WoofWoof for the idea!
