Hi, I just bought a 658 lounge chair but it is missing it's original Roundhead screws that bond the plywood arms to the metal frame. I have contacted Hille but they were unable to help and there are no close-up pics in any of the books. If anyone in the community can provide a picture of the original Roundhead screws it would be much appreciated as I would really like to get the chair looking as authentic as possible. Any advice on restoring vintage ply would also be much appreciated.
Thank you, tick

Thank you
Thank you, I want to restore the chair and keep it original as possible. I suppose I should content V & A and see if they have info. British furniture of the fifties is in a class of it's own. It would be great if others posted pics of their fave Brit chairs.

I have always wanted one of these. Day's work is so hard to come by in the US. Congrats. I am glad you are the owner and not some ignoramus who would not appreciate it.

British furniture is hard to get in Australia.
British furniture of the fifties is really hard to get here in Australia too. It's rare to see old robin day chairs, let alone Ernest Race and the brilliant work of John and Sylvia Reid. I often drool over the British furniture websites. We are only now just starting to get retro furniture dealers bringing in containers of British midcentury furniture. I think British 50's and 60's is really starting to grow in popularity outside the U.K. because it just has that austerity and is also well made.
