I purchased this vintage Danish lounge chairs with 2 cushions that are covered with lint and dog hair on the tweed fabric. I'm not able to unzip and remove the covers and put them in a washer. I tried using that sticky roller thing but that didn't do much and all the dry cleaners said the same thing, that I would have to take the covers out before they can clean them which I can't do.
Where can I take my cushions to to get the pet hair and lint removed without having to remove the covers? Would a steam cleaning place or a carpet cleaner be able to do this?
Thanks!

Just use
Just use a real lint brush. You know, the ones that look like red velvet.

The brush will probably do...
The brush will probably do just fine. If not, usually rug cleaners can do this kind of thing. I had my bear chair cleaned this way and the guy did a great job.

Use rubber
Gloves. Those bright one you get in supermarkets. Here we call them marygolds.
Small bowl of cold water and then all you do is dip the gloved hand in the water and simply rub the cushion in the same direction all the time.
The hairs will bunch up and form a lip which you can remove. Maybe you have to repeat the process a few times but i use this trick and it works a treat.
Good luck
Ps covers that appear not removable are fitted with slip stich on one seam. Look at the seam on the whole cushion and the one the looks like even spaced waves is the on you cut open to remove the covers. Any good upholstrer will know the term and should be able to do this.
I have done it and it takes a little time to get right but it makes restoring and cleaning cushions a doddle
