These Red Bar Stools were originally thought to be Verner Panton ... an expert says not.
Does anyone know what they are ... who designed them ... and an approx value.
Any info is most welcome, kind regards, Rob

Probably a reproduction/copy of Bombo by Magis
-> copies are all over the web

Thanks Lars ... they must be Stefano Giovannoni Bombo Bar Stools
Any ideas how I can tell whether they are originals?

Hello Rob,
A few things point to these not being made by Magis, the authorised manufacturer. The height of the back (it's higher on these red stools than authorised versions), the shape of the footrest (it should be a nice curved ellipse rather than a slightly pointed rugby ball shape when viewed from above), the two red plastic rings on the stools' stems (absent on the originals), and finally the shininess of the plastic. The originals have quite muted, matt colours. I notice that since 2014, Magis have started adding a medallion to theirs, presumably in response to the multiple cheap copies out there.
