It's time now for me to get a new office chair. High backed ones are a must; as is tilting capability. The Pollock chairs look great but I don't know if they make high backed versions; I've always hated Eames office chairs, they're far too corporate, with every damn high st bank or TV news anchor using them. Urgh. Suggestions welcomed! 🙂
lit up said he didn't like...
lit up said he didn't like the eames aluminum group, which is a sadness, so the alternative of the soft pad version is odd.
it's the 'same' chair...but more importantly, after ordering one for my father a few years ago, I realized how poor it was for actual comfort (compared to my normal aluminum group exec high back). The addition of the pads makes the seat so short that it was awkward to sit on it---and I'm short (5'7')! A taller person's experience will be worse.
Some people can't read....
Some people can't read. Either that or they have Eamesitis. I hate to think what Eamesitis does to people. I did say in the first post that Eames was off the agenda.
In this day and age there is nothing more corporate or nouveau riche than Eames designed furniture. I don't have time for any of it.
If I hear the word Eames in any context one more time I think I will scream 😉
Ergonomics?
I was talking to a friend of mine who said you have to be careful when buying vintage office chairs as back in the day the amelioration of RSI or back problems or other potential desk-related injuries had not been institutionalised into furniture design and manufacture. That logos looks great but doesn't appear so great to sit in.
