I can not believe what I fell into today. It was like opening a tumb for the first time or something. Long story short this guy found this unopened original George Nelson 25" Saucer Lamp. We opened the box to check the contents and sure enough, there is was brand spankin' new in the original Howard Miller Bubble box. The brushed silver is perfect, the shell is bright white. No holes or yellowing anywhere. The chord is still taped to the box. what do you think the value of this is? I really want to keep the lamp and enjoy it, but in its virgin state there has got to be some kind of value to it with its original box and still taped into the box. Thoughts, comments?

Cool score
But are you interested in keeping it or selling it? Seems like when MIB (mint in box) lamps like this appear on eBay, they do surprisingly well. I don't really know why. I mean, if you want one that is bright white and looks like new... just get a new one. Really, if the value is in the fact that it's perfect and in the box, once you take it out and use it, it's no longer perfect in the box. Personally, I like a nice vintage example with a bit of yellowing and softness to it. But maybe that is just me. If I found that lamp I'd sell it, buy a nice vintage lamp that is not MIB, and pocket the difference.
